Panels of Predictability
Kiki Ho received a grant to develop a new video installation. In Panels of Predictability, she explores the privilege of predictability in daily life along the Ukrainian frontline. The installation questions the repetitive nature of human existence and the often-overlooked role it plays. Inspired by Milan Kundera’s statement, “Happiness is the longing for repetition,” Panels of Predictability challenges the audience to reconsider their assumptions about the everyday. What is often perceived as monotonous or dull — repetition and routine — may in fact offer comfort and certainty, providing structure and meaning to human life.
Kiki is a Dutch-Indonesian audiovisual artist and mental health activist based in Amsterdam. She holds a bachelor's degree in Film and Philosophy and pursued her passion further with a master’s in Documentary Filmmaking at University College London. As an audiovisual artist, Kiki focuses on exploring the intangible — capturing ideas, emotions, or states of mind through a lens. Her work is often described as immersive and atmospheric, while approaching complex themes with directness. She is currently creating a video installation on the power of repetition in daily life within homes along the Ukrainian frontline.
