Traffic is the New Silence

13 Ensemble is a dynamic collective of thirteen musicians led by composer, performer, and conductor Ester F. Mata. The ensemble navigates contemporary jazz, hypnotic minimalism, and cinematic soundscapes, creating a chordless, breathing music that takes shape in real time. Written structures dissolve into shared gestures, cues, electronics, spoken word, and everyday sounds, blurring the lines between composition and improvisation. Each performance becomes an immersive encounter, a collective ritual that listens, responds, and gently expands the boundaries of genre.
