Minja Mijuskovic Nonet

The Minja Mijuskovic Nonet blends a jazz quintet with a string quartet, where the powerful and distinctive sounds of two saxophonists merge with the subtle and expressive tones of the strings. The ensemble delivers a unique interpretation of jazz-impressionistic compositions by Minja Mijuskovic, embodying a vision of a paranormal reality.

The Minja Mijuskovic Nonet is the winner of the 2026 Down Beat Student Award in the Small Jazz Ensemble/Combo category. This concert is made possible by Amarte Fonds and organized by Oene van Geel.

The repertoire consists of original music and arrangements by Minja Mijuskovic, fusing jazz and impressionism. You will hear the suite “Boya” with its playful narrative, as well as new pieces for their upcoming album.
