Noorderzon X Amarte: Night Transmissions

What happens when you give musicians, sound artists and makers from different disciplines complete freedom after sunset? Noorderzon, Amarte, Simplon and STROMING organised an open call with which they invited artists to submit their proposals for three nights built entirely around experimentation. Each evening is shaped from scratch by a different artist or collective, with work that doesn't easily fit within the walls of a music venue, the format of a club night, or the context of a traditional presentation space.

On the 29th of August, as part of the Noorderzon Festival Night Programme, curious visitors can experience a conceptual sound and radio art event curated by Luz Mercedes, bringing together a series of performances that explore listening, sounding and experimentation. Visitors can expect field recordings, tape compositions, sonic snaps from the Ether, underwater singing, slideshows and adventurous DJ sets.
