The Embrace (포옹)

RUIS presents the exhibition The Embrace by Yubin Lee, winner of the Blauwe Golven Award 2026. In this exhibition, Lee explores the transformation from human to animal as a metaphor for temporarily shedding societal roles and expectations. Inspired by Korean folklore and personal symbolism, such as the tiger as a symbol of strength and resilience, her work invites reflection on connection, vulnerability, and collective memory.

The opening will take place on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 20:00 to 23:00 at RUIS in Nijmegen. The exhibition will then be on view from September 5 to October 4, 2026, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:00. Admission is free.

The Embrace is part of Act of Presence, a talent development program in collaboration with Omstand, Krachtstroom 026 and ArtEZ.
