Sophie du Ry
Sophie du Ry was selected for the upcoming Roode Bioscoop X Amarte sessions. Sophie du Ry is an artist who explores, challenges, and redefines the relationship between the female voice and contemporary notions of femininity.
Initially a backing singer in The Orchestra (For Now), she collaborated with producer Daniel Scott-Warren, forming a creative partnership. Together, they experiment with electronic pop and ambient music, drawing from alt-pop, experimental songwriting, and a range of other influences. Their live performances incorporate flute, drums, guitar, and clarinet, resulting in a dynamic and evolving sound—from the high-energy, genre-defying chaos of hyperpop to the intimate, minimalist atmosphere of ambient ballads. Inspired by artists such as Eartheater, Caroline Polachek, Clarissa Connelly, Marina Herlop, and Smerz, Sophie and Daniel fearlessly push the boundaries of their craft, continually expanding the possibilities of their artistry.
