Birthquake

Birthquake was selected for the upcoming Roode Bioscoop X Amarte sessions. Birthquake is the solo music project of Louise Van Tassel. Her compositions are minimalist and introspective, slowly unfolding to capture the quiet, haunting beauty of the mundane. Moments like the fear of falling, waking in the night, or fleeing ghosts through an empty house.

Louise has performed as Birthquake at Circusbende Festival (NL), as well as through GLARC and the Events Research Programme in Glasgow. She served as composer and sound designer for See and Don’t See, Olive Jones’s experimental short documentary, which screened at Alchemy Festival and WomenX. Additionally, she composed and designed sound for Bishop May-Down’s Conversations with Eve, a performance presented at the Present Futures Festival at Dundee Rep Theatre.
