All the wonder and the Ahhhh

Luca Tichelman received a grant to develop her new video work All the Wonder and the Ahhhh. The piece will be featured in the group exhibition Wild Summer of Art 2026 at Brutus in Rotterdam.

All the Wonder and the Ahhhh is a contemplative video work following three clowns as they restlessly rehearse for an upcoming season. Set within a circus tent on a desolate, isolated landscape, the performers obsessively pursue the elusive ideals of the "unique" and "perfect" act. Trapped in cycles of overthinking and introspective monologues, they grapple with uncertainty—until they begin to yield to the transformative power of their own imagination. The work culminates in a poignant question: “What, if not the lingering scent of sweat and fabric, will we leave behind?”
