Tango entre Lenore y Stefan
Lenore Huang received a grant for the development of new music in collaboration with Stefan Brunner. At first glance, the tango duo sets itself apart through an unusual instrumentation within this tango style: voice and bass guitar. Here, the rich orchestral textures of traditional tango are distilled to their essence, creating a soundscape that is both vast and intimate. Lenore utilizes the space provided by Stefan’s minimalist accompaniment to explore the narrative nuances of Argentine poetry, inviting the audience into the heart of the story (and often the tragedy) of each song.
Lenore first specialized in Latin American music during her studies in Latin & Brazilian Voice at Codarts Rotterdam, where she graduated cum laude. Her artistic path then shifted to Argentine tango as her central focus. In 2025, she obtained her master's degree in Tango Voice at Codarts, also cum laude.
Lenore's performance is characterized by a deep commitment to the tradition of tango singing, combined with a modern sensibility, all in service of the dramatic layers of each piece. Her ability to illuminate the narrative of each song has earned her recognition from leading tango figures such as Gustavo Beytelmann and Omar Mollo, establishing her as a rising talent on the European tango scene. In June 2025, she took the stage at the Dutch International Tangoweek Festival.
