Pleun Stork received a grant for the development of her debut album: an ambitious and personal project in which she deepens her songwriting and explores new musical directions. This album marks the next step in her artistic growth and aims to further crystallise the identity of her music.

With a strong live band and a distinctive sound, Pleun creates under the name plonki a world that springs entirely from her personal experience. Inspired by artists such as Radiohead, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Big Thief, she weaves raw guitars, dreamy vocal lines, surprising structures and deep grooves into a captivating mix of indie, psych and alt-rock. Her lyrics explore themes such as alienation, longing and recurring emotional patterns — always with a poetic undertone and plenty of room for contrast, from intimate vulnerability to raw outbursts. Earlier, in September 2025, she released her debut EP kicking at my heels, followed by a national tour as a selected 3voor12 Talent of Popronde 2025.
