May I Come In?

Martijn Verhagen received a grant for the development of his debut album May I Come In?. The album will feature eleven compositions in which harp, koto, strings, and electronic sounds converge. It creates a sonic world that emphasises stillness, depth, and harmony, presenting softness as a meaningful counterbalance in a time often experienced as harsh and polarised.

In 2023, Martijn released his debut EP Morphosis under the pseudonym Morpheus. His music is characterised by a blend of orchestral elements, contemporary production techniques, and digital rhythms, together forming a distinctive pop-noir sound. For Verhagen, songwriting functions as a process of transforming personal experiences and emotional layers into a powerful and expressive musical whole.
