Apartment No. 8: Afterlife

Daria Khozhai

Daria Khozhai received a grant to develop a film within an interdisciplinary project, in collaboration with Kleoniki Stanich. Apartment No. 8: Afterlife is a film developed within an immersive installation, where space becomes a scenographic environment for performance. The project explores violence against women as an internalised and often invisible condition, translated into a cinematic language through body, atmosphere, and time. Moving beyond representation, the film creates a space of recognition, where personal experience can become visible and shared.

Daria is an interdisciplinary artist working between art, architecture, and spatial installation, focusing on memory, displacement, and emotionally charged environments. Her work materialises psychological states through immersive spaces and minimal materials.

Kleoniki is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Amsterdam, working with video to explore bodily presence, emotional states, and non-verbal narratives.
