Here Lies Lola

Brandon Oelofse received a grant for the development of Here Lies Lola. When Lola, a beloved trans woman, dies, her friends arrive at the funeral only to discover that her family intends to cremate her as a man. Determined not to let her be erased, they steal the coffin and take it to their small city apartment.

Brandon is a multi-award-winning writer, filmmaker, and theatre-maker. Through his company Backlash Media Productions, he focuses on telling authentic LGBTQ+ stories. With a dedicated focus on queer experiences, he creates compelling narratives that celebrate the rich diversity of this community.
