Oneiromancy

Renata Miron Granados received a grant for the development of new work. Oneiromancy is a project that explores the complexity of dreams, intimacy, and craftsmanship. Miniature silver sculptures embody a network of symbols that interconnect a web of affective relationships, offering a glimpse of the ineffable hidden beneath the surface of the skin. The series is an exploration of a haptic language that emerges from the subconscious, through the hand, into the material, and back to the subconscious.

Renata is a sculptor and researcher based in The Hague. She is fascinated by how dreams, fantasies, and desires take shape through her hands into material in ways she could never plan or foresee. The material shapes her practice, not the other way around. Her artistic practice examines how knowledge is produced through craftsmanship. As an artist, she seeks to contribute to epistemological justice for subaltern, feminized knowledge-making processes through intuitive, repetitive, and collectively based approaches. She explores the possibilities of art to highlight situated and material-based practices that offer affective, political, and spiritual feminist perspectives on the relationship between the body, place, memory, and material.
