Willy, mama, oma

Olivier van Eijk received a grant for developing Willy, Mama, Oma: a narrative podcast series about a woman who lives on in the memories of her family. Through interviews, montage, and music, a polyphonic portrait emerges where memory, family history, and psychological vulnerability intersect.

Olivier is a writer, poet, and multidisciplinary maker from Groningen. In his work, he explores how stories can come to life beyond the boundaries of the written word. Audio, imagination, interactivity, and performance often play a central role. In 2024, he received the Literature Stipend from Noordwoord and the Municipality of Groningen for Aleno’s Reservaat, an interactive audio drama project where visitors explore a fictional world through audio and text. As a writer, he contributed to the comic book Guardians of Grunn for Kunstpunt, and as a screenwriter, he published a short film script on the website FinalFinal. In addition to his writing practice, Olivier is active as a poet and performer. This year, he performed at Het Grote Gebeuren and Terug Naar het Begin with Oefeningen in het Onbekende, and appeared at Grasnapolsky and the Nieuwe Gilde festival.
