TAKE HER SWIMMING ON THE FIRST DATE

Anne Liket received a grant to develop the performance Take Her Swimming On The First Date: a fragmentary performance about sexuality, systems and the male gaze. The performance questions how feminine persons are depicted in mainstream media and art and how we view different bodies. All this is set in the place where body differences were first felt: the swimming pool. With discomfort, screaming hormones, rousing techno and a disco swim DJ.

Anne is a theatre maker and director. She makes visual, committed and experimental theatre about contemporary themes, such as the cultural landscape, femininity and the extreme divisions in society. In doing so, she draws inspiration from the everyday and attempts to abstract it.
