I Have a Dream
Marnix van de Poll received a grant for the development of a new performance. I Have a Dream is an interactive performance where dreamscapes, performance art, and Carl Jung converge. Marnix draws on dreams of his own as well as those of visitors, weaving them into a theatrical world of improvisational sounds and music. The red thread running through the performance is his life story—his pilgrimages, his nomadic lifestyle. In short, his personal path toward wholeness, rooted in his training as a Jungian Analyst. I Have a Dream is a surreal theatrical encounter with the unconscious.
Marnix is a pianist, performance artist, composer, and improviser with a distinctive ability to establish deep connections with his audience. Whether performing Canto Ostinato by Simeon ten Holt, improvising soundscapes, or creating interdisciplinary projects, his artistry inspires introspection and emotional release. His performances have been praised as “transformative” and “humanely loving, playful, and profound.” Marnix has performed at Oerol, De Parade, Karavaan, Terug naar het Begin, Bonnefanten Museum, Singer Laren, Kröller-Müller Museum, Bimhuis, the Japanese Garden at Clingendael, and many other remarkable venues.
