Talking Stages

EAN received a grant to develop new music. Talking Stages is EAN’s new album, in which he explores how his Ghanaian gospel background can be translated into his own contemporary musical and performative language. The project connects gospel influences with elements of soul, R&B, pop, and Afro music, with vocal layering, harmony, and rhythm as its guiding principles in composition and performance. Within Talking Stages, EAN develops new repertoire that moves between intimacy and scale, seeking a form where personal stories and collective musical traditions converge. The project culminates in a musical work that comes to life both in recordings and live performances.

EAN is the artist name of Elisha Amonoo Neizer, an Amsterdam-based musician, composer, and musical director with an international practice. He has collaborated with leading artists and received multiple accolades, including an Edison, a Buma Award, and FunX Awards. As a bandleader and arranger, he specializes in translating studio recordings into rich, layered live performances. His musical signature originates from a Ghanaian gospel background and moves between soul, R&B, pop, and Afro influences. Through his work, he explores how personal identity and musical form converge in his own artistic language.
