Prelude to Now

Prelude to Now is the title of the debut album of the Canarian trumpeter and composer, Ernesto Montenegro. The project is a narrative that transcends borders, the story of thousands of ancestors that came into being in Gran Canaria, the whispers of their souls and the dreams of the new generations of young Canarian idealists that left home to start the conflict with the now.

This album reflects the experience and the story of Montenegro, being influenced by all the music, literature and experiences of his life and his ancestor´s history, the project is comprised of original compositions by Montenegro that reflect his soul and culture, with influences from Canarian folklore, Afro-Cuban tradition, Jazz, and Groove.
