Low Lit // Between Surfaces

LASALTAS received a grant for the development of their debut EP. Low Lit // Between Surfaces will be a four-track release exploring the introspective, emotionally charged world that exists behind the unknown. Throughout the EP, vulnerability and intimacy unfold within a dense, immersive sonic world of intense beauty, shaped by massive loops, noisy spatial synths, reverberant acoustic textures, and stretched samples.

The Amsterdam-based duo LASALTAS, formed by Lara Perillo and Bea Alvarez,  explores the interaction between acoustic purity and digital transformation by creating evolving soundscapes, where melodic interplay and digital sound processing shape a neo-classical, experimental cinematic soundworld. Their practice combines improvisation, composition and live processing, integrating alto flute, viola  and live electronics. Through their performances, they have researched live spatialization and the relationship between architecture and sound, developing site-specific compositions. Selected performances include ADE festival, Muziekgebouw and Bios Romantso.
