Futuristic Zouk & Soca

FELLOW

Michael Lampe received a grant to develop an EP. Futuristic Zouk & Soca: A Sonic Ritual centres on a search for a sound in which diaspora resonates as future. Caribbean rhythms are transformed into electronic trance, both danceable and meditative. The EP explores how heritage can evolve without losing its essence: a ritual in which migration, resilience and connection become audible. Recorded with live musicians in Amsterdam and presented as immersive performances where music and visuals merge, the project creates a bridge between two worlds — a new sonic space.
