Feuillet d'album

Maria Nikolic received a grant to develop new music. For the first time, Maria is composing her own music for oboe and piano, dedicated to the renowned oboist Maurice Bourgue. The album, titled Feuillet d’Album, is rooted in neo-impressionism and draws connections between early 20th-century France and the Netherlands. At its core, it is inspired by the spirit of Art Nouveau.

Maria is a photographer and oboist based in The Hague. She completed her Master's degree at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague in 2021. In her career, she brings together multiple talents, focusing primarily on classical oboe performance and photography. For the first time, she is embarking on a deeply personal journey with her own original music—allowing herself to follow her creative instincts and merge French and Dutch influences into a uniquely personal musical narrative.
