Sioe Jeng Tsao received a contribution for writing Mijn tijd in de zon. The book chronicles their personal quest about growing up bi culturally in the Netherlands as a Chinese, queer person with ADHD.
Sioe Jeng, also known as SEEYOUSIOE - is a Chinese, queer, multidisciplinary artist born in Amsterdam. Their work, consisting of paintings and digital illustrations, is a challenging and colourful exploration of several important social issues such as LGBTQIA+ rights, mental health awareness, intersectional feminism, climate change, racial justice and sexual liberation.
Sioe Jeng finds their inspiration in the intersections of lived experiences between different generations, cultures and identities - their grew up in a Chinese-Dutch immigrant household with a history dating back to 1945. Known for their outspoken nature, Tsao is not afraid to seek discomfort while breaking through intergenerational traumas and patterns. Sioe Jeng continues to build bridges between communities by speaking their truth, connecting dots and amplifying the voices of the underrepresented.
