Korstmos
Rinske Bouwman received a grant to develop her new novel. Korstmos is the second novel by writer and theatre-maker Rinske and is about anticipatory grief. Bus driver Marius is carer for his wife Philo, who has been living in bonus time for four years. In his spare time, Marius runs a tiger farm on an island in an online virtual reality world. Meeting new people through this world and building his own social life, while Philo is still around, he prepares himself as best he can for a life after her death. Until suddenly there is a tiger in his living room. A real one, not one from pixels.
Rinske is a Utrecht-based theatre maker and writer. Her performances have played at various festivals and theatres in the Netherlands. Her texts are macabre and humorous. Often mourning is a main theme in her work, which she makes hopeful with a light tone and absurdity. in January 2024, her debut novel Een soort eelt was published by Uitgeverij Orlando.
