Buiten, in de dingen

Anne Ballon received a grant for writing her debut titled Buiten, in de dingen. After the fall of a totalitarian regime in a neatly arranged mountain village, a group of women gathers by the water. Adrift in the now-red landscape, they search for new ways to live together. In a world oscillating between utopia and dystopia, they attempt to break free from their past and shape their shared desires. Yet, alongside the uniform bliss, the need to tear away and reclaim their own thoughts and autonomy grows.

Anne is a writer and goldsmith based in Brussels. Her texts have been published in Rekto:Verso, De Poëziekrant, Deus Ex Machina, De Internet Gids, Flemish Review of Poetry, De Reactor, deBuren, and Hard//hoofd. Her debut will be published by Koppernik in 2027.
