The Sun is God
Misho Antadze received a grant for the development of a new film. The Sun is God is an essay film that looks beyond the surfaces of the paintings. As the voice-over recounts how a team of volcanologists revealed that some of the paintings contain in them traces of volcanic dust from catastrophic eruptions in Europe's colonial satellites, the film builds up to a story of climate change, global trade, artist biographies
Misho is an Amsterdam-based Georgian film director focused on documentary. His directorial work has screened at IFFR, DocLisboa, Viennale, and more, earning the NETPAC Prize at Jeonju. His editing and writing contributed to a film that won the Cupra Filmmaker Award at Berlinale 2025.
