Prins op een Witte BMX
Nichowell Nicholas received a grant to develop a music film. Prins op een Witte BMX is Nichowell’s solo project — better known as Ocho — in which he shares his story through music and short films. The EP consists of eight tracks, each accompanied by a short movie of approximately two minutes, bringing Ocho’s experiences vividly to life. With this project, he fuses music and film to translate his background and vision — a story rooted in the Bijlmer. Prins op een Witte BMX portrays the Bijlmer as a kingdom, with the BMX bike as a means of transport and street life as the backdrop for the challenges reflected in his music. The project is aimed at young people and young adults standing at a crossroads in life: choosing between the street or a path of growth, positivity, and wellbeing. In addition to exploring new creative possibilities, Ocho aims to inspire his community and make a refreshing contribution to the arts and cultural sector.
