Mooie Panty's
Nathalie Faber received a grant to develop a new film. Mooie Panty’s (working title) combines film with installation art and explores the theme of boundaries and transgression.
When a sensitive comment about clothing made in an artists' café leads to a violent attack hours later, it becomes the starting point of a cinematic investigation. What exactly happened? The film reconstructs the incident from multiple perspectives: victim, perpetrator, trigger, witnesses. As a viewer, you begin to understand each viewpoint a little, while simultaneously feeling uncomfortable. It raises the question of what drives us to create boundaries and to cross them – both our own and those of others. In a society where new generations are redefining boundaries, the film examines the tension between respecting the limits of others and the desire to push your own.
Nathalie is a filmmaker and artist-curator. Her debut film Wij de Dingen was selected for the NFF Debut Competition. Last year, she made the documentary De Natuur Bestaat Niet, about our relationship with nature. Her films are shown in cinemas and art exhibitions. Through her work, she uses art and imagination to explore socially relevant themes, striving for a balance between lightness, humour, and seriousness.
