Syntaxis Photognosis

Koen Hauser

Koen Hauser received a grant for the development of new work. Syntaxis Photognosis is an artistic research project in which he develops an alternative visual language based on photographic image transformations. The project examines how meaning and emotional resonance emerge through change and repetition, drawing inspiration from historical image systems such as hieroglyphs, and explores how images generate associations through both digital and handcrafted processes.

Koen is a visual artist who works with photographic imagery. By removing images from their original context and transforming them using unexpected or innovative techniques, he allows new forms, connections and meanings to arise. His work investigates how meaning is produced through transformation, and how images evoke affect and association through manipulation, repetition and material translation.
