Mobile soft sculptures (working title)

Jurjen Galema received a grant to develop both a technical and public approach for presenting his work in a mobile format. His aim is to bring visual art to places where people have less access to it. He pursues this by experimenting with the practical challenges of mobile presentation, while also taking time to build a network that fosters dialogue with as broad and diverse an audience as possible.

Jurjen is a visual artist and part-time drag queen. He creates large-scale installations filled with intriguing sculptures made of textiles, fiberfill, and PVC pipes. His work features extravagant characters and fascinating worlds that offer visitors fresh perspectives on pressing contemporary themes. His installations often have an interactive nature and are presented in unconventional ways.
