terms and conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to the financial contributions that the Amarte Foundation provides to artists and cultural organizations. Amarte defines artists and cultural organizations as everyone who, independently or collaboratively, is professionally active in one or more of the following disciplines: visual arts, theatre, film, music and literature.

1. The granted amount includes any taxes (Amarte has an ANBI tax deductible status, whereby all donations are exempted of gift tax).
2. The receiving party cannot transfer any of their rights or obligations to third parties without the written consent from Amarte.
3. Amarte’s contribution is based on the information provided by the applicant and should therefore solely be used to finance the project described in the application for which the grant was intended.
4. Amarte’s contribution can only be granted following the application process available through our website. For inquiries or recommendations about this process, applicants can contact the Project Manager. This assistance is given independently of the advisory committee’s review of the application.
5. Applications are reviewed according to Amarte’s criteria.
6. Amarte’s financial contributions are granted on the condition of compliance to made agreements, including the provisions part of these Terms and Conditions.
7. For all contributions a maximum of 80% of the granted amount will be transferred as an advance. The remaining 20% will be transferred after approval of the substantive and financial reporting following the completion of the project.
8. Amarte reserves the right to withdraw the remaining 20% if:
- The substantive and financial reporting shows that made agreements were not met;
- The intended project was not realized, or actualized in an insufficient manner;
- The financial resources made available by Amarte were not fully required;
- Amarte did not receive a report.
9. Amarte checks the expenditure of financial contributions and, in addition to a substantive report, may request a final account and receipts and invoices.
10. Amarte reserves the right for publicity around contributions made by the foundation through the mention on our website, social media, and newsletter.
