Sons & Fathers / Preacher’s Son

Dancer Tommy Heeffer and director Mano Som will host a screening of their new short films Sons & Fathers and Preacher’s Son on 21 March from 10:30 to 11:30 at Filmhuis Rialto. In addition to the screening, they will offer insight into their creative process. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to stay for a drink and informal discussion.

Sons & Fathers centres on Tommy's personal process of grief following the death of his father and portrays the unexpected deepening of the bond between father and son during their final period together. In Preacher’s Son, Mano reflects on the inner tensions that queer individuals may experience as a result of religious trauma. Together, the films form a diptych in which themes of vulnerability and connection are central.
