If light had a body

Raïssa Limon

Raïssa Limon received a contribution to develop If light had a body: a performance in which a performer moves like a sculpture in a space full of dramatic chiaroscuro contrasts. Dutch light is her sculptor. It is also a research project by the Natural Light Project into the influence of natural light on our daily lives. In addition, the materials will be produced "biobased" by partnering with parties outside the cultural sector.

Raïssa is one of two members of The Natural Light Project (NLP): a collective that wants to do their bit to overcome the climate crisis. The collective's practice consists of scenography and creative productions but both members are also active as musicians, visual artists and graphic designers. Together, they create work that exposes, explores and develops the human relationship with natural light. In everyday life, natural light is taken for granted and we have become increasingly dependent on artificial light. Our aim is to convince our contemporaries of the extraordinary qualities and possibilities that natural light has to offer. Through interdisciplinary installations, performances and meeting places at the intersection of science, performance and visual arts, we want to make people think about the sun, stars and moon, shadows, heat and cold.
