Worming-up! is an audio performance for children aged 8-12. Put on your headphones, sit back and listen to Mama Aisa’s adventure under the trees. Mama Aisa is an ancient tree who is in serious trouble because of a cheeky woodpecker. Can the lazy listeners lend a hand to keep Mama Aisa alive?

Sofie Kramer received a project grant for her project A Pole Tragedy.

Sofie Kramer: A Pole Tragedy is a pole dance performance inspired by Euripides’ famous sacrificial tragedy Iphigenia in Aulis, in which I search for (sexual) autonomy and physical self-determination in a male-dominated world. The duet between my female body and the pole balances on the paradoxical edge of a feminist indictment of patriarchy and a rape fantasy that got out of hand. Is this self-expression or self-objectification?”

Sofie Kramer (1990) is a theater maker, performer and writer and graduated in 2019 at Toneelacademie Maastricht. Out of her great love for music and visual art, she developed an idiosyncratic, highly visual theater language during her studies in which musicality and physicality play an important role. The fighting body is a recurring theme in her work: the body fighting against time, against gravity, against the gaze of the other. She shows this fight in whimsical, often interdisciplinary performances in which the experiment is central.

Menzo Kircz received a project grant for his project Kokanje.

In the beginning there is usually nothing, it is just after the start that it gets messy. Kokanje is an interactive performing arts project that is somewhere between a theatrical installation, a happening and a performance in which a new world is built from waste material in several days. A moving landscape in which the audience is not only a spectator but also a fellow creator.

Een missverkiezing van tranen is een ode aan het verdriet. Een tranentrekkende voorstelling door en met Rosita Segers en Max Laros, over het vormgeven van je eigen pijn en het toe-eigenen van die van een ander.

Jasper van der Pijl en Bram Walter (alumni ArtEZ toneelschool) maken onder begeleiding van Jan-Paul Buijs (Circus Treurdier) een absurdistische toneelbewerking van het horrorverhaal The Unnamable, van H.P. Lovecraft. De focus ligt op personages die driftig en obsessief mysterieuze toestanden uitpluizen om de waarheid te achterhalen en als gevolg daarvan oog in oog komen te staan met monsters die letterlijk onbeschrijfelijk zijn. Het stuk draait om de vraag wat we met onze angsten moeten als de poging ze uit te bannen of te overwinnen alleen maar tot meer angst leidt.
