Witte Paarden & Blauwzuur

Cees van den Boom received a contribution to work on a book about family, loss and the fragility of both.

Witte Paarden & Blauwzuur tells the story of a family that is shaken early on, and eventually topples over. With a mother who finds it increasingly difficult to control her depression, a father who cannot keep things together on his own, a daughter who gives up years of her youth to be there for her mother, and a son who chooses a path in the opposite direction.

Previously, Cees worked for the Volkskrant and Trouw newspapers, among others. He also wrote columns for RedPers and Mare. For the Leiden University Journal, he also made a podcast in which he questioned professors on matters bordering on current affairs.
