About Club Classique
Club Classique has been dedicated for over twelve years to developing new and surprising formats that make classical music accessible to a wide audience. Their performances take place not only in concert halls and theatres but also in cafés, on television, and even in the open air. By bringing classical music to unexpected locations, they aim to reach new listeners and break down traditional barriers.
In Classical Soundtracks, Club Classique joins forces with four outstanding young musicians: pianists Jorian van Nee and Katie Morgan, mezzo-soprano Fee Suzanne de Ruiter, and violinist Ruña ’t Hart. Together with artistic director and cellist Leonard Besseling, they present an evening in which music, storytelling, and social interaction merge — reminiscent of the intimate salon gatherings of the 19th century. The programme is inspired by Felix Mendelssohn, a pioneer of programme music, with works such as the Hebrides Overture and the Scottish Symphony. Fee Suzanne de Ruiter performs songs by Rossini, Hahn, and Tavener.
