Grachtenfestival

The Grachtenfestival is the largest festival in the Netherlands dedicated to classical music and jazz. Each year, it offers ten days of performances across Amsterdam, providing a platform for young talent to present themselves and connect — with one another and with (new) audiences. Guided by the pillars of talent development, diversity of venues, and innovation, the festival presents a balanced programme of traditional and contemporary music throughout the city.

Sofia Popova and David Huson form a duo united by a deep passion for Brazilian, Cape Verdean, flamenco, and other rich world music traditions. Though their roots lie far from these cultures, Sofiia and David manage to capture the soul and essence of each style. They honour the original music while simultaneously infusing it with their own distinctive sound. With soulful, expressive vocals and vibrant, refined guitar playing, they deliver intimate interpretations that feel both timeless and fresh.
