Jazz’n Motion

Step into a world where music moves and movement makes sound. In Jazz’n Motion, three disciplines meet: live jazz, breaking, and freestyle football. During Theaterfestival Boulevard, a jazz musician plays his instrument with the fluidity of an extension of his soul, a b-boy spins with the precision of a needle on a record, and a freestyler paints patterns on the floor with his ball, guided by rhythm.

On stage, a constant interplay unfolds: musicians improvise, the b-boy translates sound into movement, and the freestyler lets the ball speak. Three art forms, three worlds, united by one common essence: freedom and expression.

The performance invites the audience to experience how sound and movement influence and enhance each other, and how improvisation builds a bridge between disciplines. Jazz’n Motion is a dynamic dialogue in the moment – three worlds, one flow.

About Theaterfestival Boulevard
Since 1985, ’s-Hertogenbosch has been the stage each August for passionate performances and inspiring encounters. Theaterfestival Boulevard presents theatre, dance, music (and music theatre), and art forms that defy categorisation. In the city centre, at the festival heart on the Parade, on theatre stages, and in unique locations in and around ’s-Hertogenbosch. Our audience is large and curious. Boulevard is for beginners and aficionados, for young and old, for the arts professional and the family enjoying a day out.

Boulevard brings together different voices and stories, aiming to be accessible to all. Each year we welcome 100,000 visitors from near and far, including around 800 international artists and professionals.
