De Nijverheid launched an open call for performative makers with the support of Amarte, focussing on interdisciplinary, site-specific work. Three duos were selected for three short, intensive duo residencies.

These residencies centred on cross-pollination between makers from different disciplines. For each residency, two makers from distinct performative backgrounds were paired. Over the course of an intensive period of just over two weeks, they worked together to develop an outdoor performance.

Performance Residency 1: Maureen Jonker X Alberte Buch Gøbel
Maureen Jonker explores the potential of arranging the human body in ever-changing spaces and situations. This interest stems from a sport she practised for several years: synchronised swimming. In her work, she places the human body within self-constructed spaces, which she refers to as “scenarios.” Within these scenarios, the central question becomes whether the human body adapts to the space or whether the space is shaped around the body.

Alberte Buch Gøbel is a Danish dancer, performer, and maker interested in awkwardness or clumsiness as a tool to disrupt conventional systems and expectations. Her practice operates at the intersection of performance art, dance, and installation — often incorporating DIY costumes, neo-hands, and norm-challenging gestures.
