Common Ground

On 10 October, the indie folk duo Plain Talk will present their debut EP Common Ground with an intimate live performance at Touchstone, Utrecht (start: 8.30 p.m.), supported by the Amarte Fund. Plain Talk consists of songwriters HSTR and Ellis Newman, both of whom have built their own careers as solo artists and have now joined forces in an open and heartfelt musical project. The duo’s name reflects their creative process: their songs emerge from personal, meaningful conversations.

For Common Ground, they collaborated with producer Roy van Rosendaal, resulting in a warm and layered indie folk sound that balances vulnerability with strength. With their performance at the characterful Touchstone, they introduce themselves to the audience with music that invites listening, connection, and movement.
