Grachtenfestival
The Grachtenfestival is the largest festival in the Netherlands dedicated to classical music and jazz. Each year, it offers ten days of performances across Amsterdam, providing a platform for young talent to present themselves and connect — with one another and with (new) audiences. Guided by the pillars of talent development, diversity of venues, and innovation, the festival presents a balanced programme of traditional and contemporary music throughout the city.
About Aires Tropicales Quintet
The Aires Tropicales Quintet is composed of top talents from Cuba and Spain, currently based in the Netherlands. The ensemble takes you on a musical journey through time: from the realm of classical music, through contemporary works, to the captivating rhythms of Cuban, Latin American music and jazz. All performed by heart, with infectious freedom and on-stage chemistry. One of their recent projects includes a striking promotional campaign for the Queen Charlotte series, in collaboration with Netflix and Vogue. The ensemble was also selected by Fontys University, alongside other alumni, for a CD recording with Kleinman Audio. Most recently, they appeared on Podium Klassiek, where they shared their Cuban heritage with the Dutch public in the remarkable piece Afro by Paquito D’Rivera.
