A star falls under an acid sky
Greta and Sylvia spend two nights together in Amsterdam, just before the new Romanian presidential elections. As the political climate back home rekindles old fears, they are confronted with the shadow of their family history and its ties to far-right ideologies. Through late-night conversations and underlying tensions, they reflect on how the past continues to live in their bodies – through inherited trauma, reproductive rights, and gendered expectations.
The sisters navigate their fractured inner worlds through sound, image, and text. Sylvia, processing a recent abortion, searches for ways to cope with her pain, while Greta, uprooted in Amsterdam, takes on a maternal role. Their reunion becomes a fragile dance between distance and fusion, between intimacy and alienation.
Their encounter reveals how migration and ideological shadows echo across generations. In this shifting landscape, the sisters are forced to confront both their personal and political inheritance. They face the tension between resistance and adaptation in a society on the brink of fascism.
