On 19 March, FAMKE will release her new EP, Pupilla.

FAMKE creates Dutch-language alternative pop-rock and describes herself as the musical love child of Thom Yorke and Billie Eilish. With her band, she seeks to merge the melancholy and eccentricity of British 1990s bands with the poetic power of the Dutch language. In her new music, FAMKE takes on the role of the unreliable narrator: a character embodying her own distorted perceptions and the twists of reality that increasingly take control.

The band amplifies these dynamic narratives with dreamy melodies that at times spiral into despair. The title Pupilla comes from Latin and translates as ‘little doll’ or ‘little girl’. The etymology of the word, now used to describe the black centre of the eye, served as a major inspiration for the EP’s visual and musical themes.
