De Mismis

In celebration of her new novel Korstmos, Rinske Bouwman will perform De Mismis twice on 24 September: a theatre performance and club night in one, for everyone who misses someone or something. Marius, the main character in Bouwman’s new book, misses his wife, even though she is still there. She is ill, but not yet dead. To distract himself, Marius spends time in The Otherworld, an online virtual reality game. There, he hosts parties on his tropical island, where he runs an animal-friendly (because digital) tiger breeding farm. In De Mismis you step into Marius’ world and become a guest at his party. You’re in luck: especially for tonight, his DJ has prepared a very special set. Watch and listen, maybe dance carefully among the tigers, and let yourself be comforted by the Troostzwaan.
